Jody Bechtold is a highly regarded gambling addiction expert working extensively across the globe with individuals, organizations, and associations. She is the CEO of The Better Institute, a group practice located in Pittsburgh. She is the co-author of The Gambling Disorder Treatment Handbook: A Guide for Mental Health Professionals and 2 chapters in the Social Work Desk Reference v 4 on Gambling and Gaming Disorders, published in 2021. She serves as the Vice President of the board for the International Gambling Counselor Certification Board (IGCCB). Jody holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work and has certifications as a Board-Approved Clinical Consultant (BACC) and Internationally Certified Gambling Counselor Level II (ICGC-II) with the IGCCB. Licensing Boards & CEUs

LSW/LCSW, LPC, LMFT

This program is offered for 2 hours of social work continuing education through co-sponsorship of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work, a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)-accredited school and, therefore, a PA pre-approved provider of social work continuing education. These credit hours satisfy requirements for LSW/LCSW, LPC and LMFT biennial license renewal in Pennsylvania. Pitt SSW is also an approved provider for social work continuing education by the State of New York.

Although continuing education provided by CSWE-accredited institutions are accepted by most U.S. state licensing boards, our School of Social Work cannot assure that your state will accept these CE hours. The final authority for approving any continuing education activity rests with the social work board of the state in which you are licensed. Occasionally states that accept CSWE approval may have exceptions in terms of courses they will accept. Co-sponsorship program attendees are responsible for checking with and ensuring that CE sessions they attend through us are eligible for credit with their state's licensing board.
